Spike's real name is William "The Bloody", due to the fact that he writes bloody awful poetry. He was sired by Dru, a crazed vampire tortured by Angelus, and quickly became infatuated. After that he hung out with Dru, Angel, and Darla. He picked up the nickname "Spike" by his love for railroad spikes. He has killed two slayers and on the way to killing his third, found she was stronger than the otehrs and had a loyal band of friends backing her up. When Angel turned into Angelus (his non-souled, evil counterpart)he joined Dru and Spike again, but Spike soon became jealous and didn't like the way Angelus thought. He made a deal to help Buffy if she let him go with Dru afterwards. She agreed and Spike left happily. Later, he came back sans Dru and fell into a funk. Later on, the Initiative (a highly secretive goverment organization) planted a chip in his brain which made him incapable of hitting a human; if he did so he would get sharp pains in his head. Being "neutered" turned him into an ally and he fought beside the good guys for once. When Buffy was brought back from the dead (for the second time) he was able to hit her. Then began their affair which ended in a huff. His chip was hurting him and Buffy chose to remove it. Along the way he chose to get a soul. He gave his life to save Sunnydale, whilst closing and defeating THe Hellmouth. He did this by putting on a necklace for the chosen one and being blown up. Angel stil makes fun of him for this.

Joss Whedon owns Buffy the Vampire Slayer, he created it and the characters along with many other talented writers. I, in no way, own or will profit by this.
